Scott Martin’s diverse practice ranges from water law, to real property and development matters, to representing insurance carriers, sureties, and third-party insureds.
Scott has extensive experience in issues relating to large-scale water and real property litigation. Including those involving protection and defense of watershed lands and public infrastructure.
He has also represented numerous municipalities, water users associations, water companies, and irrigation districts in litigation, transactional, and legislative matters. He has practiced before all state courts, the Utah federal district, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the Utah State Engineer on water issues.
In addition, Scott continues to advance his litigation and trial practice on behalf of insurance-related defendants, and clients with water and real property issues. He enjoys being part of the small, yet professional, Utah State Bar Water Law Section. Scott’s clients include Salt Lake City Public Utilities, the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake & Sandy, the Strawberry Water Users Association, Merchants Bonding Company, and the Quantum Development Group.
